The Art Gallery and Rock Shop started in 1962 at 3312 Main Street in Morgantown, Pennsylvania and is still located at the same place. But as it expanded, a 16 x 58 foot addition was added to the west side of the house in 1973 and the Brady's regained their living room and dining room which to that point was crowded with paintings and minerals and fossils.

The Rock Shop was started by son, Keith when he was a boy. Keith continued his interest and majored in Anthropology at Alaska Methodist University in Anchorage. He continued for another major in Geology and then received a Master's Degree in Quaternary Studies at the University of Maine. The Rock shop includes minerals and fossils from all over the world and the prices range from 5 cents for the beginning collector to more pricey items for the experienced collector or the decorator looking for large and unique specimens to enhance the beauty of their home or gardens.

As for the Art Gallery, Jere E. Brady had his paintings scattered in places over a rather large area and his desire was to build a gallery so that he would know what paintings he had and a place in his own home to display them. He originally painted with oils, but his wife was allergic to the odors of turpentine, so he was forced to paint with acrylics. He disliked acrylics at first, but got to enjoy them very much.

He always enjoyed water coloring. He found that watercolors were easier for painting while traveling. Many critics claim that his watercolors resemble oils. He likes bright colors, but is not limited to any style. He has made many sketches of local landscapes and buildings, although he has sketched and painted wherever he has gone. Therefore one can see paintings done in Scotland, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Dominican Republic, Canada, Wales, England and paintings done from Alaska to Florida.

His interest in history and especially local history has inspired him to paint historical places as well as writing a book of his birthplace entitled Sketches of Scarlet's Mill and another of the early one and two room schools of the area entitled Sketches of Early Schools of Twin Valley. Each has a 2,000 name index, especially enticing to genealogists. Each book has nearly 100 sketches of places that are or have been. Most of the sketches show the places as they were originally. Brady has also published stationery and post cards of these sketches. The Gallery also has many unique gifts including small loom made oriental rugs from Turkey including oriental rug mouse pads for the computer.

Brady received his baccalaureate degree from Kutztown University, his master's degree from Temple University's Tyler School of Fine Arts with further studies at University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of New Brunswick, Pennsylvania State University and the Nova Scotia School of Fine Arts.
